Ingredients
  

  • 9 Barilla lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar tomato sauce 24 oz
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Boil Barilla lasagna noodles until slightly undercooked.
  • Brown ground beef in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  • Add onion and garlic to beef, cooking until onion is translucent.
  • Stir in tomato sauce, basil, oregano, and pepper; simmer.
  • Mix ricotta cheese with egg and a pinch of nutmeg.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and spread sauce in a baking dish.
  • Layer noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, and sauce; repeat.
  • Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake until cheese is golden brown.
  • Let lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
