  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions
 

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and whisk in grits.
  • Simmer grits for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in cream, cheese, and butter into grits.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté bell peppers and onion.
  • Add garlic to skillet and cook until fragrant.
  • Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning, paprika, and cayenne.
  • Cook shrimp in skillet until pink and opaque.
  • Spoon grits onto plates and top with shrimp mixture.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
