  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 package 8 oz refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: powdered sugar or melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions
 

  • Cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, then beat until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly through the dough.
  • Chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll chilled dough into 8 equal-sized balls.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Separate the crescent dough into 8 triangles.
  • Place a cookie dough ball on the wide end of each triangle.
  • Roll each croissant around the dough ball, sealing the edges.
  • Arrange the crookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Brush each crookie with egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
